• Me William Fancher


    William Fancher is presently in his thirty-second year at Allegany-Limestone   Central School where he serves as conductor of the Fifth and Sixth Grade Bands.  Prior to this appointment, he served as director of the Middle and High School Bands starting in 1989.   His duties also included teaching lessons, directing the Jazz  Ensemble and the Marching Band. In 2010, he decided to focus on beginning instrumentalists at Allegany-Limestone and switched his focus to directing and lesson instruction in grades five and six.
    Mr. Fancher holds a Master's of Science degree in Education from St. Bonaventure University and a Bachelor of Music degree from The Crane School of Music at S.U.N.Y. Potsdam.  He is a certified Brass adjudicator for New York State.


    The Allegany-Limestone Concert Band, under Mr. Fancher’s leadership, has performed for many of the New York State School Music Teachers' Association’s Major Organizations Evaluation Festivals, receiving many gold and silver ratings. In addition, the bands have traveled competing in Music Festivals in Boston, New York, Washington and Toronto.  During Mr. Fancher’s tenure in the High School, he fostered the growth of the band from its twenty-two members in 1989 to one hundred and ten members in 2009.


    Since 1991 Mr. Fancher has served as a chaperone for NYSSMA’s 900 All-State students at the Winter Conference as well as a NYSSMA Brass Adjudicator.  He has also served as a staff member for the group American Music Abroad from 1999 to 2012, an organization that allows student musicians to perform throughout Europe.  It has given Mr. Fancher the opportunity to conduct and perform throughout Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, and Italy.  He enjoys biking, skiing, traveling, performing locally and loves working with students of all ages from this community!
