Dear Members of the Allegany-Limestone Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to take this opportunity to share some important information about an exciting and necessary initiative for our district: the upcoming Capital Improvement Project.

As a school district, it is our responsibility to provide a safe, modern, and efficient environment where our students can learn, grow, and thrive. After carefully assessing our facilities and gathering input from stakeholders, it has become clear that key areas of our schools and infrastructure need updates and improvements to meet the needs of our students and staff today—and in the future.

The Capital Improvement Project will allow us to:

    • Enhance Safety and Security: By adding security features, and ensuring compliance with current safety codes, we can better protect everyone in our schools.

    • Update Learning Spaces: Renovating outdated classrooms, labs, and libraries ensures our students have access to the tools and environments they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven world.

    • Address Infrastructure Needs: Replacing aging roofs, HVAC systems, and other building components will extend the life of our facilities, improve energy efficiency, and reduce long-term maintenance costs.

    • Support Extracurricular Activities: Upgrades to athletic fields, auditorium, and community-use spaces will enhance the experiences of students, families, and residents who participate in or attend school and district events.

This project is not just an investment in our schools but in the future of our community. Strong schools make strong communities, and every improvement we make has a ripple effect that benefits all of us—from increased property values to a more vibrant, engaged population.

We understand that any project of this scope involves careful planning and consideration of resources. As such, we are committed to keeping this initiative financially responsible while maximizing state aid to minimize the impact on local taxpayers.

Your support and involvement are critical to the success of this endeavor. In the coming weeks, we will share more details, including project specifics, timelines, and opportunities for you to learn more and provide feedback.

Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to our schools and students. Together, we can ensure that our district remains a place of pride and excellence for generations to come.

    Sincerely,

    Tony Giannicchi
