• Tuesday, September 27, 2022: Today is a D Day

    Last night the boys soccer team won in a shutout over Olean 3-0.  With that shutout, Jack Conroy ties the school record of 42 solo shutouts set by Conner Golley in 2018.  This also puts him 2nd in section 6 history with a total of 43 combined shutouts, only trailing Golley who has 45.  Congratulations, boys soccer and Jack!

    Attention skiers and snowboarders!  It's time to sign up for SkiClub 2023!  Holiday Valley has gone digital this year. To get to the website and access code, please see Miss Pierce in Room 242.  Payments sent through Holiday Valley's website are due by October 31st.  Bus permission slips and payments are due to Miss Pierce by November 3rd.

    Good morning, Gators!  It's Homecoming Week!

    Weather has forced us to make some changes to Homecoming Week:
    Monday Sept 26th - CANCELLED: The Powder Puff game
     
    Tuesday September 27th - CANCELLED: The Community Bonfire
    Thursday, September 29th: ALMHS Annual Dodgeball tournament will be on the turf field at 6:30 or in the gym if weather is poor. Anyone in grades 9-12 can create a team of 6 (with at least 2 girls per team) to compete! The entrance fee is $2 a student or a flat $10 if it is teacher sponsored. No cost to spectators!
    Friday September 30th - Homecoming assembly during the day and Homecoming parade at 5pm. We will start at the post office in Allegany and go to Fireman's park. There will be a bus to take students from Fireman's park to Grace Field for the game if they would like to take advantage of it. We hope to see everyone at the game that follows!
    Saturday October 1st - Homecoming Dance in the MHS Gym from 8-11. The theme is Fright Fest, and tickets will be sold during lunch periods on Wednesday - Friday or at the door. $10 presale and $15 at door.

    Friday, September 23, 2022:  Today is a B Day

    There is no modified BOYS Soccer practice today.  (This was announced at 2 pm.)

    Congratulations to the SENIOR Class for collecting the most money for our ALS coin drive.  In second place is the Junior Class. Stay tuned for more details on your ice cream sundae parties!

    Coach Grove and Coach Owen would like to thank all of the students who participated in the coin drive and hat day.

    Students, if you go to the game tonight, don't forget to visit the ALCS Student Table, and sign up for the Student Gift Card Giveaway! We have gift cards for Tim Horton's, McDonald's, Little Casesa's, Subway, and Walmart to give away. Don't forget to sign up!  You have to be present at the game to collect your prize. Winners will be announced throughout the game.  Cheer on our Gator football players as they take on Alden at 7:00.

    Hello, Gators!  It's ALCS vs ALS week! Remember to bring in loose change for the change collection competition! Friday is a hat day in school sponsored by the Varsity football team. Donations are encouraged but are not mandatory for participation inthe hat day. No one in our community fights alone.  Help us battle ALS!

    Congratulations to the SENIOR CLASS for contributing over $580 in cash to ALS. We're extending the change collection competition to include a 2nd place SUNDAE party!  Come on, grades 6-11!

    A recruiter from the United States Air Force will be here on today at 11:00 am outside of the cafeteria if you would like to meet with him.  If you are unavailable at that time and need a pass to meet with him, please message Mrs. Malpiedi or Mrs. Rakoska-Heary.

    Tuesday, September 20, 2022:  Today is a C Day

    On Saturday Ian Higgs, Brayden Parry, Sushanth Kondur and Rhyland Wilder competed in the Olean Soapbox race.  The last race was 52 years ago.   Rhyland Wilder took 1st in the Stock Division and Sushanth Kondur took 3rd in the Super Stock Division.  Great job,  boys, and thank you, Mr. Kenyon, for your time on Saturday!

    There will be an Art Club meeting today starting at 3:00 in Ms. Rinamon's art room.  It is important for you to attend because we will be voting on fundraisers and trips. The meeting will only last for about 15 minutes, but if you need a late bus, please remember to sign up for it.  Please see Ms. Rinamon or Ms. Jones if you are unable to attend or have any questions.

    Good morning!  The Allegany-Limestone Varsity football team is looking to raise funds for a gator community member who has recently been diagnosed with ALS.  ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.  This week, we will have several fundraisers to help this family.  All week long, we are asking students in grades 6-12 to bring in coins to put in large jugs that will be in the lobby.  The grade that brings in the most money will get an ice cream sundae party from the football team.  We will also have a hat day this Friday sponsored by the football team.  Staff and students are encouraged to bring in money on hat day to donate towards the Gator football's ALCS benefit, too!

    Congratulations to Michaella Rhodes for breaking the school record again diving with a score of 258.30.  Congratulations to Lauryn Ball for making a sectional time in the 100 backstroke with a  time of 1:05:74. Great job, ladies!  Although they lost to Southwestern, the Lady Gators had 18 personal bests!

    • Students should follow the schedule they receive THIS morning.   There may have been changes since we mailed your schedule in August...especially with study halls and locations. 
    • Students who are interested in working at the Allegany Recreation program on 4th Street in Allegany should contact the Allegany Rec. Center.  If you'd like the phone number, please check in with the main office.
    • Tonight, we will be hosting home sporting events for JV Boys Soccer, JV Volleyball, Varsity Girls Soccer, and Varsity Volleyball.
