This year, our district-wide theme is inspired by a powerful quote from Walt Whitman, made popular again through the words of Ted Lasso: “Be curious, not judgmental.” It’s a simple idea—but a profound one. It reminds us to lead with questions, not assumptions; with empathy, not conclusions. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in the community, curiosity opens the door to understanding, connection, and growth.

To our students: we are so excited to see you back in our halls, ready to learn, ask questions, try new things, and support one another. Be curious. Explore your passions. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes—that’s how learning happens.

To our families and caregivers: thank you for your continued trust and partnership. Your support at home strengthens everything we do at school. We look forward to working closely with you to ensure every student has a safe, challenging, and joyful experience.

To our outstanding faculty and staff: your passion, professionalism, and care for our students continue to inspire. You bring this district’s mission to life every day, and your commitment to fostering both academic excellence and personal growth is the foundation of our success.

To our broader community: thank you for standing behind our students and our schools. Your involvement and pride in our district are essential to creating the supportive and inclusive culture we strive for.

Let us embrace this year with open minds, compassionate hearts, and a spirit of curiosity. Together, let’s model and encourage the kind of thoughtful exploration that makes Allegany-Limestone not just a school district—but a place where everyone belongs and grows.

Wishing you all a wonderful start to the 2025–2026 school year!

With gratitude and excitement,

Warmly,

Tony Giannicchi
