COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Students will study the fundamental concepts of algebra. Topics include equation solving, polynomial operations, and applications. Students will take Intermediate Algebra next year and the New York State Algebra Regents exam at the end of the Intermediate Algebra course. 
 
 

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Perform basic operations with fractions and integers.
  2. Perform basic operations with polynomials.
  3. Solve linear equations.
  4. Use equations to solve word problems.
  5. Utilize graphing calculators.
