• Geometry
    Mrs. Hollowell
    Course Description:
Geometry continues students’ early study of geometric concepts of shapes and solids and study their properties and relationships. Reasoning skills will be emphasized, and students will broaden their use of the coordinate plane to include transformations of geometric figures. Geometry is now more about analysis and reasoning. Students will move from an inductive approach to deductive methods of proof in their study of two and three-dimensional geometric figures. It is not uncommon for students who have been strong in Algebra to struggle with Geometry, and vice versa. Proofs are often especially difficult for students. The learning curve varies from student to student, keep this in mind. Each new unit relies heavily on having learned previous units. Perseverance and determination is critical to success! Keep up with assignments and ask for help.
