The Allegany-Limestone Central School District has been informed that an Intermediate level staff member at the Elementary school of the Allegany-Limestone School District has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Cattaraugus County Health Department conducts contact tracing. The Cattaraugus County Health department will follow up with a phone call, please follow their recommendations.
If you are not contacted by the Cattaraugus County Health Department, you are considered to be at low risk, if any, for contracting Covid-19 but always monitor for symptoms.
At this point, there is no evidence that the Covid-19 transmission is occurring at school. We will continue to practice masking, social distancing, and good hygiene practices.
The Allegany-Limestone Central School District and the Cattaraugus County Health Department appreciate your help to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Please contact the Cattaraugus Health Department if you have any specific questions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Attendance: Reminder that a parent/guardian must call the main office to notify the school that a student who should be phycially present in school will be home remote learning for the day. If we do not receive the call, a student is marked absent for period one, and a phone call goes home. It is important that both you and the school know when a student is physically absent.
This does NOT apply to any times when we may switch to remote learning, for example for grades 9-12 on December 3, 4, 7, and 8. You do NOT need to call the school.
Questions? Please call us!
REMOTE INSTRUCTION FOR GRADES 9-12:
Beginning Wednesday, December 2, students in grades 9 through 12 will be going to remote instruction for one week. Students in grades 9 through 12 will return to in person instruction on Thursday, December 10. Students will follow their regular class schedule. The switch to remote learning is due to the number of staff members that are in preventative quarantine.
Students who attend vocational programs at BOCES will continue to attend classes in person at BOCES.
Morning BOCES students will attend their first period classes at ALCS if they wish to do so. If a morning BOCES student normally takes a bus into school in the morning, the bus will still pick up. A bus will be at MHS to take students to BOCES in the morning and to pick them up from BOCES. Students, however, will then need to arrange their own transportion home from school. Junior BOCES students will NOT have afternoon classes at ALMHS.
Afternoon BOCES students should either be dropped off at their BOCES, or they may take the bus from ALMHS. They will NOT have morning classes at ALMHS. There will be a bus to transport BOCES students back to ALMHS after BOCES, and they may attend their last period at ALMHS. They would then be permitted to ride a school bus home if needed.
LUNCHES and Next Day Breakfast:
Lunches and Next-Day Breakfast for remote learners may be ordered online and picked up at the window to the MHS entrace between 11 and 12:30 pm on any day.
