Middle School Art
Mrs. N. Missel
The 2020-21 school year marks my 27th year of teaching art!
I love teaching art because it stresses the importance of creative problem solving and paying attention to detail. Every student learns a little differently and in the art room, we can celebrate those differences and each individual person.
The art courses are based on the New York Learning Standards for the Arts:
Students will be assessed on their participation, effort and projects created in the art room and at home.
We will make a sketchbook in class and you will be expected to bring it home and to class every day you are here. I also have art supplies for you to keep at home in case of a shutdown.
My expectation is that students and families will continue to COMMUNICATE with me throughout the school year. We are all in this together and the more we connect, the more successful we will be.
When you are in class, you will receive an assignment. We will start it in class and you will be expected to finish it on your own.
You will not need to come in to class remotely, unless you are regularly scheduled to be there, you were absent OR you are an all remote learner.
You will get 2 assignments a week on TEAMS and are expected to keep up with them.
I am really looking forward to getting to know you better this school year 😊
