Classroom Procedures
- When the class starts students must be in their seats, prepared, and ready to receive instruction.
- On remote days students need to fill out the attendance form on Teams
- All cellphones are to be put away during class.
- Students must bring all required materials to class.
- Folder if required
- Pen or pencil
- No food or drink allowed in the classroom.
- All work must be done by the due date given by the teacher, for everyday the work is late there will be a 5 point deduction
- Students will never become argumentative.
- Students will not be disruptive at any time during class
- Students must respect other students work. Do not destroy or take anything from another student.
- Always respect each other. Never put down another student or say rude comments to or about another student.
- In the event that there is a substitute teacher, you are expected to maintain behavior that exceeds my expectations. If a substitute leaves any type of negative statement about any individual or classes, the individual or classes will be disciplined accordingly.
- During fire drills you are to remain silent while exiting the building and returning to the classroom. You are to stay in one group on the grass across the parking lot.
General Room Safety
-Walk, NO horseplay
-Keep talk to minimum
-Keep work area clean; pick up scraps and clean up spillages
-Report all injuries, including minor cuts and bruises to the teacher
-Sleeves should be rolled up past the elbows
-Long hair should be tied back and dangly jewelry should not be worn
-Never throw anything under any circumstance or for any reason
-Use proper eye protection at all times (Prescription glasses are not safety glasses)
-Only use the vise for its intended uses
Machine/Hand tools
-Select the proper hand tool for the job and inspect it before using it
-If a hand tool is damaged, give it to the teacher
-Carry and place edged tools so they are not a hazard to yourself or fellow students
-Do not operate a machine until you have been instructed on its proper use
-Always check the machine to ensure safe operation; if the machine is not operating properly, you must do the following:
1. Turn it off
2. Unplug it
3. Tell the teacher
-Use properly adjusted guards on all the machines
-Turn off the power before adjusting the machines
-Be sure to clear any sawdust or scraps lying on the table of the machine before using it
-When using the machine give it you undivided attention
-Do not distract anyone using the machines
-Always turn off the power after using a machine and do not leave until the blade has completely stopped
-Always remain 3 feet away from the person in front of you using a machine
-Never use scissors to cut wood
IF IN DOUBT ASK THE TEACHER, DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
