Hello!
My name is Miss Scalise, and I am the Middle and High School Chorus teacher! I also teach PreK Music at ALES! I attended SUNY Fredonia for my BM and MM degrees, both in Music Education. In my years at Fredonia, I performed in all the choral ensembles in the school of music, including the highly competitive Fredonia Chamber Choir. I have performed all types of choral repertoire, from religious to contemporary to musical theater and to spirituals, as well as solo repertoire such as art songs and operatic arias. I attended every NYSSMA solo festival, Area All-State, and All-County in Chautauqua County when I was in middle and high school. I have also performed in several musical productions, including being an ensemble member in Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
Since moving to Allegany, I have had the pleasure to perform and work with multiple groups throughout the Olean area including OCTaves Jazz Band, Olean Community Theatre vocal directing shows, Olean Theare Workshop, The Palmer, and being the vocal director and assistant for ALCS Drama Club's musicals.
During my time at Allegany-Limestone, I hope to make connections with students, parents, faculty, and the community through various performances throughout the school year. I encourage everyone to keep a song in their hearts, because everyone can sing! Singing is not just for a certain group of people. Singing is for everyone, no matter who they may be.
In the chorus classroom, students and I are expected to be kind, courteous, and understanding of every person in the ensemble.
I am so excited for my fifth year at Allegany-Limestone! Any questions may be directed to my email ascalise@alcsny.org or my telephone 716-375-6600 ext. 2283.
Thank you!
Alexandra Scalise
