Grading Policy

Grades will be taken frequently on certain Math and Science materials. These grades are a reflection of your child's understanding of the material covered during instruction. All grades are final and I do not offer opportunities for corrections or additional attempts at completing assignments. Students that do not demonstrate a significant understanding of the material being graded will receive additional instruction during our AIS and Block times during the week to help with their understanding. 

Student grades will be calculated using the following formula: 

Number of problems answered correctly divided by total number of problems

This will be a percentage grade. Students demonstrating an 80% or above will have demonstrated a proper understanding of the content covered on that graded assignment. Students below 80% will receive additional instructional opportunities to help with their understanding of the topic covered. 

I do not offer extra credit assignments to allow students to raise their averages/grades.
