Mrs. Buzzard’s Class Behavior Plan
Our class has 5 rules and we will review them every day:
- Legs are crossed.
- Hands are still. (Keeping hands to oneself.)
- Ears are listening.
- Eyes are watching.
- Lips are zipped. (Not talking out.)
Because your children are 3 and 4 years of age these rules are very basic. My aide, Mrs. Youngs and I will “model” the proper usage of these rules each day. I will also use a counting system from 1, 2, 3 Magic as a reminder. As an example: If a child is touching and poking another student I will say “That’s 1 and hold up one finger.” If the behavior occurs again I will say “That’s 2 and hold up two fingers.” If the behavior happens a third time I will say “That’s 3. Please return to your seat.” I will then ask the child to sit out and think about why he/she have been asked to do so. The child will stay at the table for a few minutes and then return to the group.
If your child is spoken to about a rule to the extent that he/she had to sit out, I will fill out one of the forms that I have attached. This does not mean he/she was “in trouble”. It just means “we” talked about it and you probably should, too. I do not use “colors” to represent the kind of day he/she had. If you have older children, you will understand what I mean. I just want to keep things positive and simple.
Please sign any form sent home and return it the next day.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks!
